Arrival at DUB- So having arrived a Dublin Airport’s Terminal 2 for an early morning flight, EI584 to Malaga on-board Aer Lingus’ A330-300 (EI-EDY) aircraft. I proceeded to the Check-In desks sending off my bags and receiving my boarding pass. I continued to security, which took me a short 15 minutes with no complications and as always very pleasant customs at Dublin Airport. After completing security, I then proceeded through the Duty Free where I managed to capture a shot of a United 777-200ER, Sporting the Star Alliance Livery arriving from New York Newark that morning.
Departures out of DUB- After having a breakfast bap in the Food Hall, I then proceeded to Gate 414 for my early morning flight. Having the opportunity of being seated in the Business Cabin, I had Priority Boarding ahead of everyone else. However I was able to be seated in Business class even though only purchasing an economy class ticket with an additional small fee added on. For this flight I was seated in 2K, located at the front of the aircraft. We pushed back At 7:04 In the Morning, And Taxied to E1 Where we holding for a few minutes while waiting for other aircraft to depart .We then lined up on 28 where we had a Very Smooth Departure out making a left turn over the Wicklow Mountains and continuing further out across the Irish Sea to FL390.
The Flight- While cruising over Plymouth, The Crew commenced the In-Flight Service starting with the passengers in the Business Cabin. I was able to sample Aer Lingus’ Irish Breakfast from their Bia Menu. This was included in the fare and was well prepared and was delicious (Want to know more about the menu? Click Here. Around Lands’ End we went into some light turbulence which only lasted around 15 Minutes. The flight continued down In the middle of the Bay of Biscay. With around one hour left in the Flight Northern Spain Came into View. As we flew over Spain, There were Spectacular views of the Country’s Beautiful Mountainous Terrain, especially in the south after we began our descent.
About a half an hour before arrival the crew started preparing for our Arrival into Malaga, the rubbish from the flight was collected and shortly after the Seatbelt sign was turned on. We were then beginning our descent into Malaga with the beautiful scenery on the approach.
After a superb approach into Malaga, the plane was gently brought down on Malaga’s Runway 12. A short taxi brought us to our gate and ended another great flight with Aer Lingus. When travelling through Malaga Airport, after a visit to the cockpit I noticed that the airport has a very low ceiling, which gives a slightly claustrophobic feel at certain parts of the Airport. The Queues for Passport Control and Car Rentals were quite bad, Signs around the Airport were not great either, Very hard to find Certain Things. But Altogether A Very Pleasant flight.
Extra Information.
The A330-300 Operates two routes in Europe during the Summer Peak Months to Malaga and Lanzarote.
The Upgrade to The Business Class Cabin is Around €80-90.
On these European Routes The Only Upgrade is the Priority Boarding And Lie Flat Seats Apart from that it is a Normal Service.
Conclusion-

Overall Flight Rating:8/10.
