The flight distance between both airports is 4,806km or 2,986 miles, with an average flight time of around roughly 7hrs 20min to 7hrs 25 minutes depending on both weather and flight plans for that flight. The convenient and hassle-free option for most travelers especially if carrying luggage or travelling in large families.

It is relatively expensive with one-way fares into and out of the city center can cost between 35-45 euros and but can take between 15-20 minutes dependent on traffic.

Buses-

Main Points to note-

There are several different buses that operate through the day to the city center.

The main bus operators are Dublin Bus, Aircoach, Bus Eireann and City-link. These buses operate both local and nationally but what do we recommend as the best option?

Choosing Aircoach costs just 6 euro for centre of the city drops, operating every 15 minutes and taking around 25-30 minutes.

Another option is Dublin Buses Airlink 747 Express, it runs every 10 minutes which also costs just 6-euro one way getting you into the centre of Dublin within 30-40 minutes.

Trains-

Main Points to note-

There are no direct train or light rail services from Dublin Airport with recent plans to extend the cities local Luas Tram Line to the airport. It is hoped that in the next 5 years work will begin on new rail links, but it is still to be confirmed when.

Boston Logan Airport to Boston City Center-

Taxis-

Main Points to note-

Boston offers many taxi services to and from the airport, most common of which is the Logan Airport Car & Taxi service, with an average of $21, including tolls, for about a 40- 45 minute drive from each of its locations.

Another option is the Boston Airport Express Car, which offers premium transportation service for travellers coming in and out of the Massachusetts and New England areas (16+ stations).

The fee of this service depends on the vehicle that picks up the customer - for example, a Sedan taxi will cost $99.5, while a 10-passenger van will cost $244.

Buses-

Main Points to note-

The most popular and available bus service to Boston Logan International, is the Logan Express bus service, which brings customers to the airport from 5 different towns, each of which feature non-stop service, meaning you won’t have to wait long for a bus to arrive at any of the stations.

Each ride is approximately 30-45 minutes, and the daily fee is very cheap, costing only $7.

The Concord Coach Lines is also a reliable bus service, serving Massachusetts, Maine, New York, and New Hampshire.

One of their cheapest trips to the airport is Portland to Boston, costing only $29 for a one-way ticket. The trip would also take almost two hours, so if would be wise to plan accordingly.

Trains-

Main Points to note-

The MBTA public transportation offers Blue Line subway service (leads to Orange Line) and Silver Line rapid transit to and from downtown Boston.

It is the most economically and environmentally friendly method of transportation to the airport.

The silver line is absolutely free, and goes to 5 major locations, including Harvard, MIT, and the MA General Hospital.

The Blue line costs $2.75 and is a 30-40-minute ride from Downtown to the airport.

The commuter rail is also an option, which stops at South Station, on Summer Street (this will cost $2.25 - $12.50, zones 1A - 1O).
Both Aer Lingus and Delta Airlines run an extensive range of flights per day between both cities with fares being relatively similar if booked with a few months in advance.

Aer Lingus- Aer Lingus often promote their Summer Sale with initial fares that may seem attractive but in truth are a whole lot more.

The average one-way Economy fares under the carrier’s Smart flyer fare is around 500-550 euro for the early months of April-June.

From July onwards, fares start to increase to 600 euro and demand then increases for the peak summer season.

After September right up to December, fares will fluctuate in between 450-500 euro which is probably the better prices you will get outside a seat sale.

However, the number of seats will drop after November as Aer Lingus only operate Daily flights over Double Daily during the summer.

As for Business passengers, fares are usually the same range between 2600-2700 euro one-way which includes Lounge access and Priority Boarding at DUB.

Delta Airlines- Delta only operates from June until September, but their fares stay the same right through the year.

The average one-way Economy fare is at around 1500 euro.

It’s not an option we would be recommending if you are looking for a cheap flight.

As for Business Class, the average one-way price will be around 2500-2700 euro all year round. Deltas prices don’t tend to fluctuate too much from prices 6 months before a flight or those only a few weeks away.
