Boston-Washington
The flight distance between both airports is 665 km or 413 miles, with an average flight time of around roughly 1 hrs 35min to 1 hrs 45 minutes depending on both weather and flight plans for that flight. There is up to 7-8 Daily flights between both cities during the summer season with Jetblue & United Airlines. They both operate the route using narrow-body aircraft.
Both airports lie on the outskirts of their respected cities, with several modes of Transportation Available to the public on a Daily basis.
Washington Dulles Airport to Washington City Center-

The Washington Flyer Taxi Cab service offers 24 hour service to and from IAD within a 128 mile travel distance. The most expensive length ride will cost $268, which is not very cheap. However, this service does not require any registration or appointment, and accepts all pets.

The Dulles Express Cab offers 24/7 personal service to and from IAD, and offers special occasion services, such as birthdays, weddings, night parties, and more.

The initial charge for each ride is $3.50, and an additional $0.60 for every ¼ mile, and each minute of waiting time. Additional charges include additional passengers (10 y/o and over), groceries, animals, and additional baggage.
Buses-
Main Points to note-

There are 3 main bus services to and from the airport; the Fairfax Connector ($1.75 -$2.0 for cash), the Metrobus ($1.00 - $4.25), and the Virginia Breeze ($15-30).

Each service takes customers from different highway routes, to Washington Dulles International, including some stops along the way. Each of these routes take approximately 25-35 minutes).
Trains-

The Silverline Express Train (through the Silverline Express Bus) runs between Dulles Airport and the Wiehle-Reston East Train Station, and arrives every 20 minutes.

This service costs $5 for the bus, and then another $6 for the Metrorail fare and is the only direct and local method of rail transport through Dulles International Airport.

There are Amtrak routes and routes from nearby locations, like DCA, but this would take about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Boston Logan Airport to Boston City Center-

Boston offers many taxi services to and from the airport, most common of which is the Logan Airport Car & Taxi service, with an average of $21, including tolls, for about a 40- 45 minute drive from each of it’s locations.

Another option is the Boston Airport Express Car, which offers premium transportation service for travelers coming in and out of the Massachusetts and New England areas (16+ stations).

The fee of this service depends on the vehicle that picks up the customer - for example, a Sedan taxi will cost $99.5, while a 10-passenger van will cost $244.
Buses-

The most popular and available bus service to Boston Logan International, is the Logan Express bus service, which brings customers to the airport from 5 different towns, each of which feature non-stop service, meaning you won’t have to wait long for a bus to arrive at any of the stations.

Each ride is approximately 30-45 minutes, and the daily fee is very cheap, costing only $7.

The Concord Coach Lines is also a reliable bus service, serving Massachusetts, Maine, New York, and New Hampshire.

One of their cheapest trips to the airport is Portland to Boston, costing only $29 for a one-way ticket. The trip would also take almost two hours, so if would be wise to plan accordingly.
Trains-

The MBTA public transportation offers Blue Line subway service (leads to Orange Line) and Silver Line rapid transit to and from downtown Boston.

It is the most economically and environmentally friendly method of transportation to the airport.

The silver line is absolutely free, and goes to 5 major locations, including Harvard, MIT, and the MA General Hospital.

The Blue line costs $2.75, and is a 30-40 minute ride from Downtown to the airport.

The commuter rail is also an option, which stops at South Station, on Summer Street (this will cost $2.25 - $12.50, zones 1A - 1O).

Both JetBlue & United Airlines run an extensive range of flights per day between both cities with fares being relatively similar if booked with a few months in advance.

JetBlue- The average JetBlue fare is around 75-100 dollars if you book with 3 months or more ahead. Anything within 1-2 months of your flight, more likely to be around 120-200 and sometimes more dependent on the time of day.

United- United try to stay competitive but only on early morning and awkward times more most. The average for most months is 90-120 dollars with some services then in the 70-75 and some over 200. Dependent on when you book the best thing is to get ahead of the competition and book if at possible well in advance.
