This may be a convenient and hassle-free option for most travellers especially if carrying luggage or travelling in large families.

However, it is very expensive with one-way fares into and out of the city center can cost between 35-45 euros and take between 20-30 minutes dependent on traffic.

Buses-

Main Points to note-

There are a number of different buses that operate through the day to the City Center.

However, the main bus we suggest is the Amsterdam Airport Express (Or Bus 397).

This bus runs every ten minutes and takes around 20-25 minutes to reach the city centre with a half a dozen stops in between. It is much cheaper however than a taxi service, with fares at 5 euro one-way and return of 10 euro per person.

Trains-

Main Points to note-

There are direct and indirect metro/intercity trains that connect Schiphol with Central Station along with several more smaller stations scattered around the region.

Travel times into the downtown area vary from 20-25 minutes with a change to the underground system if you are trying to get to further destinations other than Central Station.

The price is extremely reasonable at around 5 euro per single ticket in comparison again to the taxis.

Keflavik Airport to Reykjavik City Center-

BSR Taxi Service offers direct pickup and drop-off from REF Airport. The price of a four-passenger vehicle is 88 Euros ($113 USD).

An eight passenger vehicle costs 110 Euros ($142 USD). The BSR service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. The trip will take an average of 39 minutes.

Buses:

Main Points to note-

The Flybus shuttle offers direct service to and from KEF Airport and only takes 45 minutes from the BSI Bus terminal.

Children ages 0-11 are free of charge, and children 12-15 receive a 50% discount. The ticket will cost you 2.950 ISK (Icelandic Krona) ($28.86 USD).

Trains:

Main Points to note-

Currently, Reykjavik has no rail system at the airport, but they do plan to begin building one in 2020. The train ride from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík centre is expected to be 20 minutes. A one-way ticket will cost 5,000ISK ($49 USD). The Flybus Shuttle is your best option until then.
